31  Before I Do / The Preparations / Club Paradise on: April 18, 2007, 05:39:17 AM
Our uncle used to own this island. This is located at Dimakya Island, Coron, Palawan. So sad that he sold the place.

Anyway, this is a great place to stay... white sand, nice cottages, buffet meals - great food!, friendly staff.

Had my 1st scuba dive there. There were stingrays, colorful fishes, corals and other underwater beauties.

Island Escapade and romantic dinner by the beach is a must for honeymooners. You'll fall inlove all over again!

32  Before I Do / The Preparations / Wordings for Unity Candle Ceremony on: April 16, 2007, 03:00:20 PM
[This one is for a ceremony that uses a unity candle with the cross and double rings design on it.] "On this their Wedding Day, they make this loving commitment, to follow the greatest Commandment of all: 'Love one another, as I have loved you.' This they do in the hope that their union shall become a symbol of God's promise to merge two devoted lives into one. The two distinct flames represent their lives to this moment; individual and unique. To bring bliss and happiness to their home there must be the merging of these two into one. Together they light the center candle. This is what God meant when He said: 'On this account a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife and the two shall become one.' From now on their thoughts shall be for each other rather than for their individual selves. The entwining rings -- symbolize their two lives joined in dependence and growing maturity. Their plans shall be mutual, their joys and sorrows shall be shared alike. The cross -- a constant reminder of their faith in the Lord who blesses us each day, for it is He who enriches their marriage in every possible way. Thus rhey extinguish the two, forever united in the radiant oneness of God's love. Let them renew their vows each day as the memory of this joyous occassion reminds us:
The Way is Long -- Let Us Go Together
The Way is Difficult -- Let Us Help Each Other
The Way is Joyful -- Let Us Share It
The Way Is Ours Alone -- Let Us Go In Love
The Way Grows Before Us -- Let Us Begin"

Example wordings for this meaningful, symbolic portion of the wedding ceremony:

"The two outside candles have been lighted by their parents to represent their lives to this moment. The lights, representing the faith, wisdom, and love they have received from their parents, are distinct, each burning alone. They light the center candle to symbolize the union of their lives. As this one light burns undivided, so shall their love be one with God. From now on their thoughts shall be for each other rather than for their individual selves. Their joys and sorrows shall be shared alike. Holding hands, they encircle the alter and candle to symbolize the sacrificial nature of their life journey together. May the radiance of this one light and their jouney together be a testimony or their unity."
34  Before I Do / The Preparations / Sand Ceremony vs. Unity Candle Ceremony on: April 16, 2007, 02:50:10 PM
hi destiny,

instead of having a sand ceremony in church it would be more appropriate to use the unity candle ceremony.

sand ceremony is more for beach weddings kasi.

36  Before I Do / The Preparations / Re: Garter / Bouquet Toss Suggestions on: April 07, 2007, 09:53:50 AM
garter toss

Singled out - the winner of the bouquet game will be blindfolded and will be asked a series of questions (ex. Do you prefer tall guys or short guys?). The bachelors will be eliminated according to the preference of the lady. When only 2 or 3 bachelors are left, they will be asked a common question (ex. If you were to be stranded alone on an island, what is the one thing that you would bring?). The lady will then choose her most favorable answer from among the bachelors which will determine the winner.

garter toss

Garter basketball - the groom will be asked to throw the garter, but the bachelor who catches it is out of the game until one bachelor is left.

garter toss

Limbo rock - same mechanics as the traditional limbo rock but the first bachelor who drops to his knees or touches the limbo stick is the winner.

Garter toss

Scarves game - the bachelors will be asked to form a circle and will be given 2 different colored scarves. (Ex. blue and white) the blue scarf will be given to a bachelor and the white scarf will be given to the bachelor right across him. The bachelors will be asked to tie the blue scarf once around his neck, and the white scarf will be tied twice. At one point in the game, the 2 scarves will meet. The bachelor who has both scarves around his neck is the winner.
