A MAJORITY of senators sitting in the Senate blue-ribbon committee on Wednesday moved to cite former agriculture undersecretary Jocelyn “Joc-joc” Bolante in contempt, and ordered his immediate arrest for giving evasive answers and repeatedly lying in his testimonies at the ongoing inquiry into the P728-million fertilizer fund scam.

“We will be issuing a warrant of arrest because of the contempt, because of the continued evasiveness, contradictions and lies perpetrated by Mr. Bolante upon the Senate in its investigations,” Sen. Richard Gordon, committee chairman, confirmed to reporters.
